Regional Club and Development Coach

 

 

Responsible to:          Talent Coaching Manager

 

Salary:                     Pro rata £25,000 per annum.

 

Working Hours:          Full time or Part Time

 

Location:                  Regional academy site / flexible.

 

Job Summary:           To working as part of a network of regional club and development coaches spread across England developing sustainable club and development coaching programmes. Working within the established regional delivery plan and delivering coaching to developing athletes at club level to ensure that seventy percent of emplyed time is spent delivering coaching to identified athletes.

 

Key tasks:                To working with the Regional Development Officers, Regional Committees and Triathlon Action Groups to develop and deliver quality coaching to clubs and club environments.

 

                              To work with regional clubs and coaches to develop a network of club oriented coaches.

 

                             

                              To work with the county Triathlon Action Groups to develop and deliver coaching at club level.

 

To work with World Class Coaches advising them of emerging regional talent and receiving guidance on the requirements of talented regional athletes top progress to the World Class Talent Confirmation stage.

 

Key competencies:     Ability to coach and understand athletes aged 12 +

Communicate effectively with them and their parents

Engage with and provide coach development and support to regional clubs/coaches

Understanding of performance standards and environment.

Qualification Education & Training

 

·         Good general education to degree level or three years equivalent experience.

·         Full UK Driving licence

·         Level two coaching award

·         Ongoing commitment to continuing professional development.

·         Level three triathlon coaching award

 

Experience

·         Coaching in a club environment

·         Networking

·         Good team worker

·         Experience of being involved in a sports club, either as a coach or administrator

·         Working in a Team.

·         Involvement in Sport as a participant, administrator or coach.

·         Coaching in a performance environment

Personal Attributes

·         Good communication skills

Knowledge, Understanding

§         Understanding of sport in the voluntary sector

§         Knowledge of support available to secure development of coaches at a local level

·         Understanding of the sports development continuum

·         Good working knowledge of triathlon (e.g. organisational structure; rules and byelaws; current opportunities for young people, Clubs and people development)
