Triathlon England, Eastern Region Academy
The Eastern Region Academy will be starting its 2008/2009 programme at the end of October. You could be part of it if:
you'll be a youth or junior competitor next year
you think that you might have a future as an elite triathlete
you are training regularly in a swimming club or squad
you love running
you have a road bike
you fill in an application form
you convince me that you are good enough and that you'll make the Academy even better.
At the moment there are 14 academy members: Harriet Brettle, Alfie Chapman, Adam Couldrey, Neha Dabhi, Venita Dabhi, Joe Giggins, Becky Hewitt, Rob Hill, Gabe Lowrie, Chelsea McKenzie, Will Meadows, Taz Porter, Harry Smith and Vasudev Zaver. Since we started up at the beginning of the year we've got together 16 times to learn and practise how to be top-flight drafting triathletes. We've used various locations around the region for our sessions, several of which have seen us meeting up at one location and cycling to another.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Tim Williams (Academy coach. )
NOTE: The ER Academy is not connected to the University of Essex Academy. We are also not in competition. The objectives each are similar and you may apply to both without causing offence! The ER Academy is supported by British Triathlon and Triathlon England. Membership is free and sessions are free. There is no obligation to attend sessions but if you don't come you won't benefit.
