Corus Kids of Steel - 22 May 2008

Blackshots Leisure Centre today played host to the second Corus Kids of Steel event in the Eastern Region, following on from the first event held at the same venue in 2007.
	This year, due to some great work behind the scenes by Ceri Winter, our regional Development Manager, the number of children taking part more than doubled from last year with almost 600 swimming, cycling and running through the event.
Race organisers One Step Beyond and British Triathlon were supported throughout the event by a coaches from across the region, including John Gabriel who made an extremely long round trip journey from East Anglia to help out at the finish, 11 members of East Essex Tri and a whole load of willing marshals from William Edwards school.
	All children raced in Corus KoS red T shirts, won medals for taking part and took away great memories from a successful day. We sincerely hope to see many in Eastern Region events in the future.
