the age 11/12 (Tristar 2) timings have been found to be incorrect. We

organisers of Holmwood House that there was a problem with the results
first published on the school's website. This is shortly to be resolved
but meanwhile I have been given the correct results and have updated the
league accordingly |

13 June 2008 - Eastern Region Adult Race Series now underway
The first event of the Eastern Region Adult Race Series took place last
Sunday (Fritton Lake). The results and league positions are now
available under the "Age Groups" tab. As a reminder, the race series
comprises 6 Standard (Olympic) distance races of which your best 4
results count. Look under the Age Group tab for more info |

25 May 2008 - Upminster Children's Triathlon I have heard from
Tri Sport Epping that the date of the Upminster Children's Triathlon has
had to change; problems at Coopers' swimming pool has meant the date has
now changed to Saturday 13 September. It will remain as part of the
Eastern Region Race Series |

22 May 2008 Corus Kids of Steel comes to the Eastern Region
Blackshots Leisure Centre today played host to the Eastern Region Leg
for Corus Kids of Steel. Almost 600 children took part, more than double
last year with lots of support from East Essex Triathlon Club and
regional coaches.

Eastern Region secures largest funding
grant
Triathlon England has announced the funding grants to regions. Eastern
Region has secured £9,400 for 2008/9, its largest amount ever and
substantial more than the 2007/8 grant of £5,420. Thanks in large part
to Richard Fuller's work in producing an early draft budget bid, the
committee were able to put a well worked up case for an increased grant.
The £9,400 total is made up of: £4,600 - Regional governance including
achieving the Region's One Stop Plan's key performance indicators
including Regional leagues and IRC
£2,800 - Regional investment in club accreditation ie Starmark which is
aimed at helping clubs' provide assess their own organisation coaching
and and safety arrangements to provide improved services to triathletes
£2,000 - Region's Mazda Training academy

22 January 2008 - Cambridge Duathlon Moira Burgham has informed
me that there are still spaces available for the Cambridge Duathlon that
takes place on Sunday 20 April at Bottisham Village.
The race comprises of a 7km run, 35km bike and then a final 7km run.
The event is organised by Cambridge Triathlon Club. The event attracts
both experienced multisport athletes and complete novices. We seek to

The children,
who finished first, second or third in the Eastern Region Race Series
completed two games of bowling before receiving their awards from Ceri
Winter our Regional Development Manager. The children all deserved the
afternoon treat after a hard season competing across the region, and
they all gave their parents a round of applause for carting them up and
down the M11, A12 and points between.
